While you're in Melbourne, there is one event that you do not want to miss - actually, in truth you simply CAN'T miss this event - the Melbourne Cup! Huh you say? Well, on the first Tuesday in November every year we have a horse race called the Melbourne Cup. This is not just 'any old' horse race, this one stops our whole nation - seriously! If you're in Melbourne on November the 4th 2003, make sure you get yourself out to Flemington Race Track for all the fun and action. Of course, anyone who scores a spare ticket to the Cup can feel free to remember their friendly webmaster :)
